Costing Specialist
- EL1 - 5 months to permanent
- Canberra 5 months - then permanent role will be in Sydney
- Commuting and Accommodation covered until Sydney relocation
As Costing Officer you will provide technical costing support within this newly created health sector authority - including data manipulation, analysis, monitoring, reporting and stakeholder management.
Ideally your background will include standards documentation, management accounting experience, activity based funding knowledge, but most importantly an understanding of hospital environments.
Working with recent health reform programs, you will have:
- Specific technical skills for management of datasets and classifications - and hence will ideally have SAS and Visual Basic experience.
- Use of clinical costing systems would be very advantageous, however consideration will be given if you can demonstrate your ability to gain competence rapidly.
- Sound experience using information systems, analysis of statistical information, and development and preparation of reports within a technological environment.
- Proven ability to manage tight timelines and the pressure associated with such!
It will be expected that you have an interest in the health sector, supporting the specific technical abilities noted above and ensuring a true passion for the varying costing projects this role will be responsible for.
Currently based in Canberra, this initial contract role will then be advertised permanently - moving to Sydney from 1 July 2012. Commuting and accommodation costs will be covered for this interim 4-5 month period while located in Canberra, but only for those genuinely interested in the role on a longer term basis.
